I live leather.
Ever since I started doing leatherwork in Mid-2012, there hasn’t been a period longer than 7 days that I haven’t done at least one stitch in a piece of leather. It is my mantra, left needle, right needle. It calms me down, helps me focus, and gives me something constructive to do with my hands at all times. I love coming up with new applications to old techniques, and sometimes pour through books from the 1800’s trying to find a new way of dyeing, stitching, or construction that I can re-juvenate and incorporate into my latest piece. I love going through the master saddle-makers, and hermes bag sewers works, seeing their techniques and questioning their every move, trying to learn and re-apply.
With every day and every object I make, I strive to become better at my craft.
