The Transfold backpack was created to strengthen the bond between person and object through materials, use and patina.

The bag has 2 main properties that help to strengthen this relationship; natural vegetable tanned leather, and the origami-style expansion+contraction system;
The natural veg-tan leather gains beautiful patina; colour, scars, marks and bumps. Things that all track your day-to-day life, acting as an archive and storyteller.
The origami helps this backpack to replace every single other bag that you own. It’s big enough to carry more than 2x Gallon Milk Jugs when you need it, and no thinner than a macbook pro when you don’t need it.

The backpackwill soften and mold to the items that you carry most, becoming more attuned with your lifestyle.
With time it will present the marks from your life story.
